Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

America @ 250: Copland + Barber

When: Concert at 8:00 PM, meet at 7:30 PM outside Symphony Hall in the Galleria

Location: Symphony Hall, 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Cost: $22/ticket with payment by check or cash in the exact amount on the night of the concert. Make checks payable to Paul Hinson. A symphony reservation is an irrevocable obligation by the member to pay for the reserved tickets. Electronic transfers and payments (Zelle, cash app, etc.) are NOT accepted.

Reservations: Please register by clicking on the "Register" button below. The deadline for registration for this event is Sunday evening, January 25. Members will meet Paul Hinson in the Galleria/lobby of Symphony Hall at 7:30 PM the evening of the performance to exchange their checks for their tickets.

Event Details: Guest conductor Leonard Slatkin brings his "special flare for Americana" (The New York Times) to serve up two great American works from the past century. The young violin virtuoso Randall Goosby plays Samuel Barber's uber-romantic Violin Concerto. Then the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra pulls out all the stops for Aaron Copland's gripping Third Symphony, a piece that guarantees the goosebumps with its finale, Fanfare for the Common Man. The concert opens with Mr. Slatkin’s own musical joy ride through the mind of 19th-century genius Franz Schubert.

Additional Information: Seats are truly great $55 seats, middle orchestra right, which are provided to us for $22 per seat through the ASO’s community ticketing program. When you register for an ASO event, a ticket is purchased in your name, and you are required to reimburse Paul Hinson for the $22/ticket cost of your ticket(s) the evening of the performance. Cash is accepted in the exact amount. Electronic transfers and payments (Zelle, cash app, etc.) are NOT accepted.

Registrations can be canceled ONLY 5 days or more before the event. (To cancel a reservation, go to your profile and select  "My event registrations.") If due to unforeseen circumstances you are not able to use your ticket, you must still reimburse Paul for the purchase price of your tickets.

Parking: Free parking is available in the Ansley Park neighborhood along 15th street on weeknights—you’ll see neighborhood parking decal sticker requirements on parking signs but most of those signs will indicate that neighborhood stickers are not required weekday evenings before 10PM. However when parking in that area be advised that occasionally cars are ticketed right after 10PM in the neighborhood to the east of the Arts Center. Some members elect to continue to park there and take that risk. Paid parking is also available in the arts center garage, or in any of several other garages in the area such as the Promenade. See this link for more information on parking.

Questions: Contact Paul Hinson at pwhinson@mac.com or 404-583-4445.
